We loved Niagara Falls! It was beautiful and breathtaking as one would expect. But more than that, Dave had the "kavorka" on his side when we checked in to our (thankfully) hotel (and not a kabin). He used his southern charm (ha!) and made the poor front desk girl feel just awful for him and his pitiful family that had traveled all the way from North Kacka-Lacka to see the Imax movie "Over the Falls.". Were we not aware that THE Niagara Falls can be seen from our future hotel room???
We got upgraded to a sweet suite! The blessing there was quite obvious when we entered the room--a KING size bed. I could hear the angels singing my name gently through the 1800 thread count sheets on the heavenly bed. Did I mention king size? We have not slept in a king size bed since we left home. Let's see, we have slept in a queen, a double (no sleep that night) and a "queen" size in the kabin which translates to really a small double over the course of week 1 of vacation.
But wait, it gets better. We were separated from the kids by a set of french doors that went to their sleeping area- a fold out couch and a roll-away bed! (*travel tip: to save yourself from repeating a thousand times "DO NOT TOUCH YOUR BROTHER!", get them separate beds and alternate nights on who gets to sleep on the "big" bed. The rollaway is free!). I was going to make sure that I got to enjoy my king size bed at all costs. The kid's "bedroom" did have the coolest view--literally of Niagara Falls. The hotel sits right in front of the falls with no structures obstructing any vantage point.
We went to sleep at night to the most amazing sights and sounds!
And I slept like a baby.
I am now the camera self-timer master. I believe I look calm and relaxed after yelling at the family to hold still then running to get in the shot and smile!
I added this picture because it sums up Nick's feelings of me always asking him to stay still for the camera. His expression is the one he gives me when he has had ENOUGH.
